* $114,341pa (Band 8), plus super * Temporary Full time (2-year contract)
The Governance Department at Hume City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the team. Reporting to the Manager Governance, this newly created position of Senior Integrity Advisor will be responsible for providing specialist advice and investigation on a range of complex and sensitive matters across Council's legislative obligations, particularly in relation to integrity and conduct matters.
The role will ensure the conduct of both Council and Council administration is exemplary and all activities lawful, transparent, accountable and fair.
To be successful in this role, you will be politically astute, responsive and innovative, with the capacity to develop effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
You will have extensive experience in local government and a sound understanding of the statutory and legislative requirements of the roles of Council, Councillors and the administration.
You will be committed to fair and equitable decision making, and have demonstrated skills in investigation, negotiation and resolution of complaints.
An understanding of public sector operations particularly related to such organisations as IBAC, the Local Government Inspectorate and Victorian Ombudsman is desired.
