Hume City Council currently has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Senior Strategic Planner to join their dynamic team. This exciting new position will allow you to work in one of Victoria's most diverse and fastest developing municipalities and play a key role in shaping and delivering a number of major Council projects.

Working within the Strategic Planning Department you will develop planning strategies and help coordinate action across Council to facilitate great development outcomes in the municipality. You will have the opportunity to prepare planning strategies and policies for the whole municipality as well as detailed plans for strategic redevelopment areas, activity centres, and new suburbs. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor staff and assist the strategic planning leadership team in identifying project outcomes and priorities.

The successful applicant will have a tertiary qualification in planning (or a related field) and a number of years experience in strategic planning. Most importantly, you will have an instinct and a passion for developing solutions to complex planning issues, and high levels of initiative to instigate and deliver great outcomes for the community.

The breadth and variety of projects means that this position would suit either a growth area planner looking for more responsibility or an established area planner looking to broaden their knowledge and experience. Either way, you will be supported by an experienced leadership team with a passion for developing great strategic planners.
